The Seagull is a play by Russian playwright Anton Čehov, written in 1895 and first performed in 1896. The Seagull is generally considered to be the first of his four major plays. It dramatizes the romantic and artistic conflicts between four characters: the famous writer of middle stories Boris Trigorin, the ingenious Nina, the fading actress Irina Arkadina, and her son, the symbolist playwright Konstantin Treplev. The work by the famous Russian writer was entrusted to the direction of Polish director Janusz Kica, it is set in the ambient of the island of Lokrum, and the characters will be embodied by the Festival Drama Ensemble.
